This section becomes primarily my reflections and not Mid’s. These are just snippets of memories which have become happily embedded in my own memory bank.
It would be great if each sibling had their story recorded by someone in their family. They all have amazing stories to tell.

The Six Sisters
What had happened to the Famous 8?
Especially the 6 SISTERS
The sisters kept in strong contact with each other through letters and the odd trunk telephone call. There was a time when they decided to write a letter book which lasted from 1955 – 1957.
This meant writing a newsy letter and posting the book ahead to the next on the line. It was Aunty Aileen’s idea. She started the book and posted the first entry to Aunty Win who then wrote and posted it on to Aunty Ada, thence to Mid, thence to Aunty Nell and finally to Aunty Kath. On reading all the letters there is a lot of news of the children, the happenings in their local areas and daily tasks to be completed.
My observation is that nothing too personal is mentioned because each sister is going to read these letters. It is an open book.
They talked more intimately when they actually had time together face to face. Naturally I think Aunty Win and Aunty Aileen were very close because of their times together as responsible “Big Sisters” and the four younger girls were quite a team. Ada, Nell, Mid and Kath loved sharing time together. Despite this the 6 women were inseparable and truly loved each other. (Not that they would have told each other such a thing! We weren’t great proclaimers of everlasting love or demonstrable huggers. but love and caring abounded.
It is an interesting read and re-emphasises how much they all cared about their children, their nieces and nephews and each other.
There are a couple of sample letters from the letter book filed under the Moyle line. Do have a look at this link. This is a link to the book.
I have the complete set if any one would like to borrow them nd I think Helen Longmire also has the original book.
There were many shared holidays and Christmas Day celebrations which will be described as this writing focuses on the individual siblings.
Reflections and sketches of each of the 8 Siblings.
